Is there any point watering potatoes after they have stopped flowering? I dug up some Charlotte day and the soil was very dry. Wondered if it was watering the rest in the hope of a better crop, but don't want to waste water!

GRACELAND

I hardly water mine anyway on my plot as water is hard to come by ,i only water in really dry conditions not once this year and there doing ok !
i don't belive death is the end

Plot 18

I wouldn't water them any more, if the skins have started to set they could split. Dry soil usually means nice clean potatoes - works for me :D

Tee Gee

I never water mine as I see this as an invitation to blight spores.

Thanks- those I dug up today were certainly very clean.
