Allotments 4 All

Hello, I'm in a lucky position where I have regular wood fires and I have it in my mind that wood ash is a moderate fertliser. Have you used it,is it to much to have manure and wood ash is it a flower promoter ? Want to use it if I can.
What do you think? X sun loving

i put mine around my fruit trees and bushes not raspberries as they like it alittle acid

I put some in each tomato planting hole.

oh great, thankyou for the suggestions and info, I'm planting fruit and toms very shortly.
Since I live downhill from a bog I'm sure that the alkalinity of the ash will be a help rather than a hinderance to thankyou x sunloving

I find beans like it as well.

I normally just sprinkle mine fairly evenly over the whole plot when the soil is bare, only avoiding those things I know it would be bad for like the blueberries.  I also put larger amounts under the apple trees and blackcurrants when they're in blossom.  I have to admit that I don't know if that's the right way to do it though.
