Do you all just use a normal rake or is there anything special out on the market that you might say is better than the usual type.

I'm with you o that one Kitty.  I like my 'slug dispatcher' and my 'chivver' (both versions of the azarda, ?,)  Also I have recently been given a longer handled flat rake which is sooooo different from the one I was using.

I have a "mini" hand held one - cost 50p from a cheap shop.  Very handy on my clay soil if planting out in a small bed.  Also can be very helpful in extracting dock roots.
