Wilkos are selling a bag of mixed onion setts - red, white and yellow.  Can I assume that these are for overwintering or are they just being a bit previous for their spring offerings?

It's far to early for the stores to be offering spring sets as the in store temperatures would not allow them to last that long. I think you can safely assume they are overwintering.

Thanks, was hoping that was the case.

Your best bet would be to read the growing instructions   :sign13: You never know if they found them left over from Spring or not!!

We planted these last winter, must admit, the whites weren't very good, they went mouldy. The others were ok :-)

I planted 2 packets of them last year very hit and miss, but you get what you pay for  :tongue3:

After losing quite a few over the winter period, I now start them off in modules ant plant them once the tips have got to a couple of inches and the root is established
