Allotments 4 All

A little while back I spotted by chance some grafted Sutton plants in B&Q, I wasn't going to bother as the grafted plants I had last year were a complete flop. I bought 1 pepper and I aubergine. So glad I tried again, bit amazed when I spotted all of these! what a difference some sunshine makes 

Hooray - well done!

After several disappointing summers where the aubergines were just cr*p, I did not grow them this year. Sod's law!  They really need heat and water, even more than tomatoes and peppers, in my experience. The peppers are going great guns though.

Pleased to read of your success Jayb,ive tried growing them from seed for 3 seasons,all to no avail,but I also have a "Jamie Oliver" of all people plant from the hardware shop and its bloomin well got 1 ...yes I said it...1 fruit the size of a tangerine growing on it in the GH,I hope the remaining flowers form into fruits if the HOT weather continues.....

The grafted plant is still growing and setting fruit 
My home-sown-grown ones are looking quite good now, nice plants and just starting to form fruit. But the grafted one is putting my home-grown plants well into second place!

Do you know what the grafted variety is and what it is grafted on?

I have got the seasons all wrong. Last year I had failed aubergines, this year I have the celery I should have had this year.

Bought some aubergines but they are still very small.   Might try them on the windowsill.

The top half is Scorpio F1, it doesn't say what the root part is. I counted 16 fruit at different stages this morning! Love moussaka

They are hateful once they get a hold. What are you using to get rid of them?

I just cant do a one line quote....anyway, Im commenting on the red spider bit. I find that just water is the best....mist and mist again, even a drop or two of washing up liquid to break the surface tension. Red spider cant tolerate wet conditions. I have gone as far as putting the whole plant upside down in a bucket of water twice a day.....
