I have had enough of the break-ins on our plot twice this month, we do not store any power tools on site and never have our sheds are not locked but the thieves still come round and take silly things that are of no real value and to top it off they took my wheelbarrow to carry them off in.
Time to fight back ( sort of ) so if the little darlings want to creep around in the dark without making any noise they are now going to be in for a surprise. when they open my unlocked shed the next they will set off my alarm and flashing lights, and still find nothing of value inside, this may not stop them but it will make them think twice before hitting our plots again.
I hope to get a few other sheds alarmed as well so to the thieves it will be a lottery as to which sheds are alarmed.

I've also painted my replacement wheelbarrow all white gloss with the name of the allotment on the side lets see them wheel that down the street....... the little darlings.

Brilliant pro-active response to a horrible situation, well done!  :toothy10:

Have a word with your local plod or neighbourhood noseyparkers watch folks. They will sometimes give away things like battery-powered shed-alarms, and may even be convinced to stamp your wheelbarrows frame with your postcode like they do to kids' (and adults) bikes.
It'll cost nothing to ask. :-)

Are you near to a road or houses, will any one hear and respond to the alarms ?
