Saw it Saturday morning as it went into Lichfield.  Very underwhelming.

An empty Coke lorry followed by a Samsung advertising lorry, a coach, 2 people running along trying to wind up some enthusiasm, and then a skinny kid with the torch.

Apparently when it got to the city centre people got on the Coke and Samsung lorries and did things, and another coke vehicle joined in and they gave stuff away.

I've heard the thing builds up a bit of momentum as the day goes on, where we were loads of people were out but the thing itself was all just a bit meh.

Worked out why it is costing so much though, overtime for the Met police, especially the motorcycle riders.  There were loads and loads and loads of them about.

You will have to google it Banksy, I put the link in but when I checked it it 'couldn't be found' If you look at this heading 'The Olympic Torch comes to Southend - Friday 6th July 2012 ' it tells you the times. Plenty telling of the events surrounding it but not enough about timing. Good old Southend Council ::)

My mate is doing power generators for the torch parade and considering how much he is pulling in for the 70 day gig I am not surprised it is costing millions!!

Thanks everyone for your help, googled it and saw that the torch will arrive at 10.52 at the A127 but not sure of other timings through the town... The official 2012 website map does not work on an iPad, great!  ???
