I have the following seeds:

2 kinds of cucumbers - long green maraicher
                                    Crystal lemon
                       both outdoor varieties.
Melon - Blenheim Orange
Pumpkin - Ghostrider - large 6-9kgs
                 Baby bear - small  1.5kgs

Sqash     - Uchiki Kuri - small orange

All from the organic gardening catalogue & I've never grown any of them before so untested by me. But the details are in the catalogue & website. Though I will of course send the packet instructions.

As for swaps, well I already have more seeds than I could possibly use so tempt me folks - anything unusual, ( and tasty) but not too difficult or temperamental. ;D 8) ;D

Oooh, the melon looks good.  How much room does it need to grow and can it be grown outside?  I've got cape goosberries or rainbow chard (and loads of other things) to swap in return.

Well acc to the catalogue
Melons are a rewarding challenge to the average gardener. A steady temp of 21 degrees is needed to raise seedlings. Once the plants are raised they can be grown without heat under glass or, in a good summer, in the open".    Don't know how far apart to plant but I reckon about the same as courgettes. Again I don't know how big - the info says 'good size fruits'!
Anyway I'll send you a few, and maybe I'll try the cape gooseberries - any info?
Send me a pm with details and I'll post them tomorrow.

ps just found this

Orange fleshed melon with finely netted skin. Fine flavour and tolerates cool conditions.

SOW: Each seed on its edge in a 3" pot. Maintain temperature of 21 degrees c. Transplant into grow bags or green house border when plants have four true leaves. Provide support and allow 60cm between plants or two to a grow bag.

HARVEST: Sept onwards.
