I sowed my peppers 8 weeks ago but two thirds of them seemed to of died off.  Is it too late to sow more sweet pepper seeds here in northeast england.  Probably just going to sow Caliornia wonder and a yellow variety.

:-\..propably yes. Unless you can 'extend' the growing season with heat and some lighting in the end of the season.
They would still grow in unheated GH..but growing the peppers and getting them ripen up would be a bit of struggle.
Unless we get 'green' Christmas.. :o ::)

I'd buy some from your local garden centre, if I were you.

My plants, sown late Feb are now about 25-30 cm high... and just about to be planted out. SO I think, yes you will need to get plants in.

I grow mine inside, no extra heat or anything, just start nice and early. They are quite forgiving, they flop a little if too little water but perk up again quite well. I much prefer them to aubergines which I find fussy and hard to succeed.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

OOps but meant to say that by about May 10, they are outside on the plot under plastic cloches until we get the warm June days then they fend for themselves.
