they really are awful things.  Today, I noticed my trained potted climbing rose was dead dry so I decided to water it and put some sea shells I had lying around.  When I lifted them to put on the soil in the pot, I noticed that nearly every single one contained an inhabitant...... a juicy slug!  They are so very clever !
