Just wondered whether anybody has grown this tomato. As a general rule I don't like yellow tomatoes - they all seem bland and watery, but brandywine is my favourite red tomato, so I just wondered whether the yellow brandywine was better than other yellow tomatoes.

It is a great tomato especially the Platfoot strain but it does  longer to mature than the red ones

I bought some to try last year, but I'm not sure it is going to be grown this year as I had second thoughts it may be a bit too late maturing?

I've tried Apricot Brandywine, but not the yellow, I diudn't know there was a variety that colour.   I'm still a fan of the original.   Big fat slice fried and onto a lump of buttered toast, (I'm not allowed fried bread).   :'(     Cheers,     Tony.

Tony. You are so right about the original red brandywine. For my money (not that I paid for it) its the best flavoured tomato by far. If the yellow ones do take longer to mature, I guess I'd better get them started.

Went with red and yellow brandywines plus legend bush and started the seeds in late January 2011. They finally produced late September into October in the greenhouse. Very tasty but fretting over blight all the time from August onwards means we are going for speedier tomatoes this year.

It`s one I have grown for years and it`s great..............if....................you take them when just ripe. Leave them a day or two beyond that and they are watery and tastless.  Not noticed them being especially late to ripen though

A tad confrontational but there's no such thning as yellow brandywine. There's the Sudduth strain, as close as you can get to the original) and there's tomatoes that misuse the name. If it's not pink and it doesn't have potato shaped leaves it's not Brandywine.

I totally agree it is a name very misused but there are several strains accepted by the tomato experts now ,among them there there are two yellow..Yellow Brandywine and Yellow Platfoot Brandywine which is a bit rounder.

Well I understand it is a potato-leaved variety and I assumed it was bred from the original somehow. Are you suggesting it is no relation at all?

I got some giant yellow tomatoes from a guy in Spain on ebay, they are:
1: Massive, not hard to get to a pound, biggest around 2 pounds
2: Very tasty when grilled. My mum's all-tiem favourite tomato
