Have any of you grown these beans edame/soya?
I really do love the way that Wagamamma prepare them and would love to try growing them?

There are apparently some Soya beans that can be grown in the UK... but as a rule of thumb I'm not prepared to try...  :-\

duke you may get good cover crop even if get no soy beans,
given you all are in warm winter with possible warm summer this season.
worst that can happen is you fail. given you will only lose the use of the space for the season that try grow them in and cost of seed.

had same people figuratively tell me i was wasting space the season  i grew wheat.
my results where very good but project was harder then i thought from out set.

Dandytown did grow these last year..and he did get some beans as some of them ended into seed saving circle.
If you do grow..it might be good idea to start them off in pots and transplant as a small plants into warmed up soil..supposed sheltered spot would not hurt neither.

Ah yes! I was sure I'd seen them on the seed-saving list on aj's blog! I certainly enjoy eating them!

Jungleseeds have them and "Black Jet" which is supposed to grow better in the British climate.  I am going to try them this year.

Probably better off as a polytunnel crop rather than an outdoor one. At least I've tried Elena outdoors adn it's always ended up looking like a bean that's not had enough time.... and Swindon adn Oxford aren't exactly the grim up north...

I grew them in the UK  and grew them here last  year, There are some quite early ones and some that are almost a month later so pick you varieties carefully. I am sending 2 or three varieties over to the UK, some for the seed circle,late but coming and I can pop some extras in..I think I have three varieteis.
