After being on holiday for 8 days in Tenerife I arrived back in the UK with my body crying out for green vegtables. I went to my veg plot and everything was frozen so I cut (nay sawed) the top of a sprout plant and defrosted it. I have never eaten sprout tops before and they were delicious, I could have made a meal of just them with gravy on.

I love them too.  ;D. I wish there was a cabbage that tasted like it.

Me too - I prefer the tops to the sprouts TBH.  ;)

We have a family tradition, going back at least two generations, or sprinkling just a little  vinegar over  all dark greens -  sprout tops, spinach, kale, etc.  It seems to improve them enormously.  It's odd as  I really don't like vinegar on chips, and can't stand vinegar flavoured crisps!
We also LOVE sprout tops, but haven't started eating them yet.  We have been picking sprouting broccoli though for two weeks, much earlier this year.  But I'm happy about that as it looks as if we will be able to eat it over a longer period.

I have never eaten sprout tops but my daughters Guinea Pigs love them, at this time of year it's hard to get greens for them.

My allotment  neighbour raved about them but I have not tried them yet,the thought of whitefly puts me off a bit.

Sprout tops are the best eating, far too good to give to the chickens! I never get whitefly here in Glasgow.

Never tried them myself but with the price of spring greens being £1 per bag per day for all our pet rabbits and guinea pigs.... the animals get all my sprout tops.

We had steamed sprout tops on Sunday for the first time and they were surprisingly delicious.

We had a guinea pig called Chuffy & whenever he had PSB he became sex on legs. He lived with a rabbit, (I didn't know then what I know now ::)) & the poor thing got so used to his antics she would just put her head down & wait :o.

Maybe PSB is the horticultural  equivalent of Viagra!

I noticed a neighbours allotment had all the little brussels open on his plants.  They looked very pretty.  Do they taste good too?
