my oh trying to be helpful has gone and drenched all my pots including my strawberries with systematic  vine weevil killer.......the packet says not to use on edibles, what i want to know is are they now destroyed or will it have worn off by june?

Bayer systematic vine weevil killer (Provado) is for use on the soil but if any has been splashed onto the plant it should not really have an affect on them, but if your concern is will the Bayer still be in the soil when the strawberries start to grow fruit and will the Bayer be drawn up into the fruit i doubt it as the soil should be well flushed through by then.
If you have any doubts then  transplant your plants into fresh compost and dispose of the old soil

Being systemic..it will be taken into plants too and as adult weevils have a chew they will get dose of the chemical.
I don't have no idea how long it will stay in a system.
In future you might be better off using nematodes..by giving dose in early summer and another late summer/early autumn. With nematodes you don't have be worried about chemicals and thet are as good 'killer' as chemical stuff.

It's a systemic insecticide which is applied to the compost/root area and which is absorbed into the plant.  It kills the weevils when they subsequently eat the plant by endocrine disruption.

If it has only just happened and there has been no time for the plants to absorb the pesticide, I'd suggest taking the plants out of the compost and washing the whole plants - leaves and roots then re-potting in fresh compost.  If it's been a while since they were drenched and they've had time to take up the stuff, I'd bin them.
