Allotments 4 All

I have grown Marion and it is OK but not brilliant.  Which swede varieties do people grow for northern England that produce large , reliable swede.

Also - do you sow direct or transplant as have only ever had swede results by transplanting.

Being just up the road from you i also grow Marion and also Ruby both give me good results. i find my best results come from setting the seed away in plastic cups then transplanting them out
