I've a Yahoo account which, these days, I only use for Freegle(Freecycle) related mails and in the past month or so only posted twice on the general topics part of our local forum.

So, dear reader, imagine my surprise when I had a mail delivered today into my spam folder from The Royal Mail :o :P ;D  It went like this:-

From:Royal Mail
bcc:1 recipients
Subject:Error in the delivery address No.5244

Dear customer,
Your package has been returned to the Royal Mail office.
Reason:the delivery address is wrong.
Information about your package is attached to the letter.
Read all information carefully and come to the "Royal Mail" office to recover your package.
Thank you for attention,

attachments.

Now then..shall I open the attachment? Shall I, shan't I, decisions, decisions... ;D ;D ;D

yea , theres any number of variations on this.

the moral is dont trust anyone or anything on the internet. Do not trust any email that you are not expecting.
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

Another 'scam' that is still going on is 'sky' insurance for equipment..that was in watchdog few years ago..I only just received a telephone call last week from bogus company that was trying it on me.
Not that I would buy those sort of extended guarantees anyway..but my sky receiver is 15 yrs old.. :-X..so the caller saying "we noticed from our records that your receiver just gone out of manufactures guarantee".. ::)..it was a bit of give a way..and not only they did get our name slightly wrong from their 'records'..Sky never does..
When I shouted..."THIS IS SCAM!..DON'T TRY THAT ON ME!"...woman on other end kept shouting back.."THIS IS NOT SCAM CALL, THIS IS NOT..."  ;D ;D ;D..oh it was fun.. ;D
I put phone down with firm last words "scam or not..send the offer through post into right adress and with correct name on it then".. ;)
OH's face was picture worth of seeing.. ;D..he was so proud with me...he always get 'stuck' on phone cause he don't have guts to say what he thinks.. ::) I keep sayin to him.."its our phone..its our business if we want to anwer to it or talk to who ever is in other end..don't waste your efford".. ;D
