Aden, that is the one, though I am not sure it is peppery, it just seems to keep coming, I planted mine back in june/july when we first go our plot and I just cut some today..... awesome, love it in mixed salads, these oriental veg are really good!

GrannieAnnie I would reccommend it, in the summer when my spinach and rocket were busy bolting this was good, and so far this autumn it has been fine, tho we have only had one mild frost so far!  Where abouts are you?

This is the one year when I wish I had planted some late potatoes as they may well have been worthwhile to grow in the open. It has been so mild.  :)

artichoke

A mountain of spinach beet with butter, lemon, grated nutmeg and crème fraîche - extended family gobbled it all up with their pork (bought) casserole enriched with chestnuts (collected) and shallots and leeks and chillis (tasteless for some reason, but nice bright red colour).

Meringue and whipped cream (both bought) mixed up with masses of thawed raspberries. Even the baby had her mouth permanently open waiting for yet another spoonful.

Last night great trayfuls of potato wedges and a huge vat of pumpkin and parsnip soup for our bonfire party.

manicscousers

some of our tomatoes grilled with bacon and egg  ;D

Aden Roller

Potatoes as usual as well as carrots, kale and onion.

I picked some more ripe tomatoes.....not many green left and the tomatoes have started flowering again the aubergine also still flowering but only one fruit is growing. Climbing French beans still flowering and fruiting but not getting very big, the dwarf beans have been frosted.
