 why , over the last week i have been getting a pop up saying
INVALID LICENSE ???   my SIL is away so i do not know who to ask.

could it be your internet security has run out ?

 Just browsing or reading emails etc:.   Yes that could be the reason my security may have run out. I havent renewed something or other recently, but why a license?.

Generally when you purchase software, you don't buy it outright as the intellectual property remains with the developer.  They grant you a license to use it in return for a payment.  Sometimes it's a one-off payment, sometimes you have to pay an annual subscription.  You need to make a note of the exact error message and any codes.  It could be security software or a Windows problem or a problem associated with some other application or malware.
