Steve.

A winter project for me to complete is the building and planting of a largish fruit cage, what size mesh would you best advise to use to keep birds out and my fruit safe but able to be polinated...is 10mm too small?

And can anyone recommend a good supplier of mesh in bulk ammounts?

Many thanks!

Steve...:)

I am about to erect a fruit cage. I got it from "Two Wests and Elliot" They stock everything you will need for a fruit cage including spares. Including netting. They advise that the top netting be taken off during the winter and either left open or with a more open mesh to let the snow through. I am not going to put the top on until the spring.
God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done

A lottie neighbour of mine had put up a huge fruit cage consisting of net and large bamboo canes :(Had some strong winds a few weeks ago and it was all over the place.Felt sad for her but did think to myself it was a daft idea.
