In the spring a fox got into a run we thought was safe and killed my two favorites, Blackthorn a Pekin bantam and her dear friend Pepper a maran. These were on the allotment with the other Light sussex chickens.
This meant we had a spare chicken hut and as we had always wanted a thingy -a-doodle we took the opportunity to
bring the hut home and make a run in the garden for some new chickens. They are silver pencilled wyandottes -Cyril, Mavis and Tilly!!
They are shut in at night and until 8.30 in the morning and 9.00 on Sunday's and the neighbours are quite happy, and will look after them when we go away. :)

Simply superb!  Especially the cockerel, who's a fine fellow indeed.

Are you going to breed them?  If so, we might have a little competition next season.  :)

I think Cyril has every intention of being a daddy!! ;D
the girls are lovely too but a bit camera shy, he just and posed!

Lovely fella, Pumpkinlover, but if breed is important to you, the girls don't look like Silver Laced 'Dottes to me!  I keep and have bred these, and the markings are much clearer black and white than yours seem to have. Are you sure they're not Pencilled 'Dottes. Of course, if it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter!! :)

Err that's because -for reasons best known to me(age related :-[ :-[ :-[) I put laced when I meant pencilled.
I have no idea why and only realised when you posted!!!!
I've changed it now Thank you so much!!!!!!! :) :) :)

They are gorgeous. I look out on mine who are all looking raggedy with feathers everywhere.

They are so lovely. The cockeral is going to be a really splendid looking bird when he is older (he is gorgeous now of course)>
