We had some beetroot given to us the other day, but when we came to cook them we noticed small holes in them, cutting one in half we found small maggots. Now they had been dug up a few days and left outside, could this be something that got to them in the ground, or while they were lay around later?.. ???

Hiya, French- dream, welcome to a4a  ;D
I hope its from them being outside, ours have had a few wood lice where there has been a hole, never maggots, they're usually too tough to be eaten like that  ???
