I got one in a French garden centre over 10 years ago. Still going strong with the original handle.

Well mine arrived this afternoon, I thought the head would be smaller so I'm well chuffed
Its 170mm across the head
That's 6 3/4 inches to the oldies
The handle is lacquered so no linseed oil necessary
The very top is untainted so I'm humming and Haring whether to soak it or not
The handle is tight, what do you reckon.   :-\

Tell him it's only £8.50, it's hardly going to break the bank,  ;) for years I've been looking for one and a few weeks ago I discovered they have them for sale at the hardware shop in our high street, they are £27, I went in to get something else and spotted it when I left the shop, but the geezer was so rude I thought F##k him I'll look elsewhere,  >:(  £8.50 a bargain, hang on I haven't even tried it yet.   :-\    ;D

Yours has probably got to be delivered on a horse and cart, takes a bit longer I reckon.  ;)

I've been using one for the last eighteen month and they do make light work of many jobs on the lotty, but like other folk at the time on A4All we bought ours off E-Bay from a company in Portugal and I was really surprised when my Azada arrived inside seventytwo hours, happy digging, :)

I broke my handle. But I shall make one out of a holly stick. I will buy another though as my friend is always nicking mine.

Mr Smith we got our azada from Portugal. I have a friend who lives there & her sister went to visit so brought the head over for me. It cost about £5. A wonderful too.

I've just give it a go and the handle did come lose after I went to war with some marestail, but it did the job, I will soak it in a bucket, is it overnight or 24 hrs.    :-\

We did our azada overnight CK.

I've soaked it for about 20 odd hours so we will see tomorrow when I try it out

Well mine came this morning.
No wonder it took longer to get here. It was brought by a nice young man with a turban on. I reckon he must have come all the way from India.
Tony gave it a go this afternoon.

Oh thanks Kev for the thumbs up and info on this hoe  ;D.....I must say it seems well worth 8.50 *squids*!!!

Well, mine turned up today - but it went to the depot at Ilkeston  ::) so i went and picked it up.

OH is chuffed to bits; we went straight out to try it he dug a trench in 10 seconds [in a bed that didn't need a trench but anyway].

Couldn't stop playing with it. I'll be he wishes he wasn't working tomorrow and could spend the day using it up the lottie.

Roll on the weekend when he can go over some of the beds up there

mine arrived today handle looks quite bashed and the head is a little wobble on it what have people done to make it a little tighter?

Just hold the handle with the hoe-end lowest, a few inches above a concrete surface, and bang it sharply down a few times until it stops rattling and feels tight. Then, soak the business-end of it overnight in water. A large mop-bucket will do, as long as the tool itself is submerged. :)

Mine felt fine when I tried it, but when my lad's mate tried it, the handle broke straight away.
I found a replacement that fits 'near enough' but is a bit heavy. Still, as I get used to it, it's proving to be a really useful tool.
