I saw monty don using one of these to plant potatoes on GW.Though it looked like a handy bit of kit so i checked them out on Amazon & was amazed that they cost so little. Mine arrived yesterday & it's a bargain.

Jolly, hows that hoe going, I was thinking of getting one, have you a better picture of one.    ;D

I've just looked at the reviews on this item. Looks to good to be true at that price but having used an azada for nigh on imprenatable ground it should be a very worthwhile tool. There were complaints about the handle being loose. We were told to soak ours in a bucket of water to get it to fit well.
I don't suppose it's s/s at that price?

cornykev

I've just ordered one Gannyjanny, what have I got to lose at £8.50 enc p/p.  ;)

The reviews are mostly excellent, out of 49 only a couple of negs so no nothing to loose.

i've got one and it's great for the money ,i did find the shaft was a little loose when i first got it but i just banged it on the floor a couple of times and left it in the water barrel for a day to swell the shaft a bit.
i've just ordered another one for a fellow allotment holder, it's so much fast for digging a trench for potatoes and it saves your back, excellent can't complain for that sort of money  ;D :)

Tony has just looked and ordered one. We were looking at one on the plot today.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

That one with the teeth was far too heavy for us Betty. He had another one today that was just like this one on Amazon.
He did offer to let us use it to finish getting the final bit of the plot cleared but we declined due to the mares tail.
It will be great for hoeing up spuds and making trenches.
At £8.99 its worth having one.

I have got one of them Shirl, but due to my untidiness and carelessness I can't find it!

It was a bit heavy for me to use, but Colin really liked it.

I've got an azada and it makes breaking new ground much easier and faster, easier on the back and slices through bramble roots! Mine was more expensive though - £8.99 is great value.

Well i used it at the allotment this weekend & it was fantastic :) The shaft is nice & tight & dosnt need soaking to swell  ;D. It isnt heavy at all & seems to have a decent enough edge to it. Ive just used it to plant my potatoes & it did the job very well. All in all im very pleased :)

Jolly what have you started, this could put the seedaholics in the shade at this rate, mines meant to come tomorrow and they are £8.50 not £8.99 don't let Shirl make out she's getting a dear one.    ;)

I have one made by Chillington hoes, Also I bought a ridger hoe from them which I found to be even better Both were dearer than Amazon but the quality is better from Chillington. When you get it first bang the head on firm and then apply linseed oil, Apply linseed oil to the whole length of the handle at the end of every season that way it will last you donkeys years. I used one that my Grandad bought when he was a lad but some thieving so and so pinched it
