Allotments 4 All

Hi
I went to the allotment this evening to find that most of my seedlings and young plants have been uprooted - I'm assuming it's fox damage as there are no wild pigs in Bristol, but it looks like the rooting a pig would do. I watered yesterday and it looks like they are after the worms.
Does anyone have any tips to stop the fox damage? I managed to save some peas and bigger things as the damage had just been done - I saw the fox afterwards.
This never used to happen when it was clay soil that was hard to dig, but has been now the soil is improved and easier for the fox to dig.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Could be badgers looking for worms.

Or do you use either chicken manure or blood fish and bone? Foxes will dig for these to eat it. I stopped using chicken manure and the foxes stopped digging.

we cover ours with old shelving from fridges, chicken wire, etc. Just until stuff's grown a bit. Ours isn't foxes, it's cats  ;D
