I made a scarecrow for my son's allotment in Harpenden.

My granddaughter did give him a name but I can't remember what it was!  She does give her dolls and teddies quite bizarre names (one doll is called 'Grape') so I'll ask my son.

Grandad sends his love......

No, he doesn't live in the pavilion, he keeps me company in my car.

thats really made me smile of your friend in car. I would love a friend like that was it easy to make love the face.

I get lots of funny looks, but people generally end up laughing at him (and me I suppose)

Very easy to make, there are instructions for the face here -

does he criticise your driving like my OH does?

antipodes

But do they actually work? I admit that one of my plot neighbours just has a dummy's head that looks over the fence. I know that often down there by myself early of a morning it has scared the cr*p out of me but magpies and pigeons might be less easily deterred!.
That would be loads of fun to make, I might take up the challenge.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

No, he's very good.  Just sits there and is no trouble at all.
Sometimes I forget I've got him with me and wonder why people are giving me funny looks as I drive past.  :)

Absolutely useless at scaring the birds, but a lot of fun to make.
