Hey folks.
So, we've decided to move... Or 'downsize', as some say....
Anyway.... The 'new' garden is long.... very long.. And it's all grass so it's a blank canvas to me.. :) .... And I have always wanted to keep bees. There are courses availablet not too far from here in a year, so I am planning ahead really...

Now to the question... How well do bees and chickens get on?
Could they share a space? Will the chickens eat all the bees.... or even...  :o....vice-versa?
Could a raised beehive work?

Looking forward to your suggestions....

Chickens might well eat bees if they were sharing a small space together. As long as the hives weren't in the chicken run, no problems.

THE DOG

I keep 30 Warrens about 20ft from an apiary and have never had a problem ;)

Hope this put your mind at ease.

a chicken wire corral around the hives will suffice!!
You couldn't make it up!

Well..not friends but not enemies neither..generally there should not be any problems as long as you do not put the hive entrance on front of the chicken coop..
