I forgot to add....I would like to think that that would be me too.  Only hope I have a spade in my hand at the time not my handbag.  Mind you with everything that is in my handbag that could be classed as a lethal weapon should you be twanged about the head with it.  :P

No, while people like this lady still have courage our society is not irredeemably pathetic.  And don't believe everything you read in the Daily Mail, every citizen is entitled to use reasonable force to prevent crime, and in the circumstances that would be very much more than a lady could muster with a handbag.  The world is not so bleak, and this lady has made a difference.

A bit of a moral dilema for you.

As they try to get away they drop a diamond necklace, would you.

2 slip it in your pocket and mingle with the crowd

3 just leave it where it is

I know what I would do.

But I certainly would not fight the old lady for it ;D
