we planted 2 before the frost, plenty of compost in the hole, buried a little deeper than it was before and will be giving them a bit of blood, fish and bone next month  :)

A lot of my fruit last year split in the drought then deluge so my tip would be to put plenty of compost/manure organic matter in the soil so that they are quite buffered from extreems of water availibility.

So yummy straight from the bush , ive got pax which are better than grapes! what variety did you get?

I have just planted Xania red gooseberry.  A heavy cropper.  I dug a hole and put some well rotted compost in together with inoculated charcoal and mychorrhizal fungi.

ive ordered an Invicta - hoping I can do ok with it going to plant a  couple of rhubarb crowns as well (March i think I need to plant them out?)

You can put your rhubarb crowns in now..that's if your soil is not frozen..the earlier they can start their growth the better ;)
