Who are they kidding, we might have been stupid enought to let them into government but surely they don't expect us to really believe this.

Mr Pickles said the Government was "calling off Whitehall's war on the motorist".

The government are clearing the way for councils to charge what they like for parking. Believe it or not their were restrictions on what they could charge before. A new bill will be going through to get rid of the old 'restrictions'.

Department for Transport rules say it is "unlawful" for councils to use charges to "raise revenue or as a local tax".

It won't be soon! All they are doing is letting councils raise revenue from car parking instead of ploughing it back into alternatives for transport systems. But at the same time they are telling us they are giving something back. Bullsh!t!

It will soon be time to leave this country and go and live abroad where we will not be insulted by our elected representatives. Can the last person to leave please turn the lights off.

Unfortunalty those in rural areas will have to use their own cars as the bus subsidies that were paid by councils, which were raised by parking fees will be channeled somewhere else now. Into the cheif exect's wages first and then into more public toilets that will be needed as we are all going to live to 100.

Lavender and p!ss will be our national fragrance ;)

If they are trying to help the motorist, then why weren`t fuel taxes CUT on Saturday rather than INCREASED. Can`t comment on parking charges, as here in Cwmbran there is no such thing, all parking is free.

Have now forwarded these facts to central government who obviously were not aware of their lapse

You may await a correction so that charges will be in place forth with.
