Some of you may remember that I had hoped last year to get a British Shorthair kitten. Unfortunately he had a heart condition so it didn't happen.

I've now signed up for a black tortie girl. Photos when available.

Lucky you, look forward to the photos!  :)

That's really weird because I was only thinking about you today and wondering if you were still going to get a kitten!
Can't wait to see the photos. :)

I will try not to look at the photographs, as it will make me want me.  Kittens are such fun. Poor Charlie is an old moaning cat, he does feel the cold, but we still love him, apart from pooing in the bedroom and wailing at night.

Here she is -13 days old. 1 2 3 -awwwwwww!! ;D

I'm planning to call her Becky Sharp - Becky or Becks for short. I need to find two alternative names though for her registration in case they don't accept that one,  so any suggestions will be gratefully received!

She's beautiful!
Have you been to see her yet?

I don't get to see her until after Christmas when she's 4 weeks old because of the danger of infection.

Here's another photo though.

She's beautiful, you must be so excited.

Soooo cute!
Is she a British Shorthair too?  What colour are her parents?  Someone from the Cats Protection told me that they call tortoiseshells 'Naughty Torties'!

Yes she is a British Shorthair.

Dad is second down - George Macgregor

Mum is Rocadanne Socks

And yes! I too have heard the expression "naughty tortie", but can anything that beautiful be naughty?

Any suggestions for names?

Squash64

Her parents are gorgeous, lovely expressions and colouring.

As for a name,  I often visit a cats website http://www.pictures-of-cats.org and the chap who runs it told me that cats of this colouring

are known as 'calico' in the States which is why I called her Calico.

That's right. Calico is for tortoiseshell and white cats - usually in the USA. Here they get called  ... wait for it .... tortoiseshell and white!  ;D ;D

Imagine me walking up my plot and calling 'Tortoiseshell and White'!
'Calico' is a bit more user-friendly.  ;)

I suppose she was born during the heavy snowfall you had in Edinburgh?  Could you use a snow-related name?  Something like  Becky-freezing-her-Socks-off?  (Socks after her Mother)

OK I've been giving some thought to names.

How about - in order of preference:

Becky Sharp (Becky/ Becks)

Lucy girl thingy ( Lucy/ Lu) -only problem with this is that google search brings up porn sites

Juniper Jazz (Jazz)

What do you think and have you any more suggestions?

Sisters cat also a tortie, called becks (siblings called guiness and carlsberg). Cutest cat ever, perfect chocolate box looks but very dominant and would kill anything smaller than her. She brought home stoats for goodness sake. Put one ex-topcat in the vets after tearing him up because he wouldn't give in.
A space? I need more plants......more plants? I need some space!!!!

grawrc

Well here she is at 3 weeks!
