After a previous video capture/editing software stooed working i decided to try this one out. I have to say i am not convinced it is good enough for my needs. Seems particularly slow even on a fast windows 7 machine and doesnt seem to do some of the things my old software used to do (Ulead Video Studio 10 SE). I only have a 30 day trial version at the moment but was attracted by the price of a full fersion (£39.99) which seems reasonable compared to other video editing software.

I was wondering if anyone had used this or another version of this software and give me their opinion on it. Alternatively if isn't much good, perhaps suggest something els that woul;d do the same job only better.

What i want to do is:

Capture video from TV (PVR or Sky+) and VCR
Trim, Edit and add titles
Make good quality DVD's on DVD-R and play them back on TV or PC
Be able to put more than one programme on a DVD (space permitting) and be able to select which one i want to watch at any given time. This last is something the software I am currently trying out wont let me do. I would like to beable to create DVDs for a sereis of half hour programmes as well as longer shows and films.

FYI this is the software: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/gb/en/Product/1175263344580#tabview=tab0

Thanks. Looks good. might give it a try. Had another look at the corel website and found another video software package of theirs 'Video studio Pro X3'. Decided to try it out. Twice the price of the first one i tried, but seems to do all  i want  to do and more, plus it actualy looks like the original Ulead Video studio i had, so must be a direct decendant of it. Only problems i had were finding my way around all the features i wanted to use, and some teething troubles when i came to make a DVD. That may have been my fault as I wanted to test a project out on a DVD RW before committing to DVD proper, which it may not have liked. All fine now though, although not totaly happy with the picture quality, but that could be the video file rather than the software/DVD.

Any other ideas, suggestions, help would be appreciated.

What is it you want to do, just download a film and convert it to a DVD or download and then edit from a number of sources to merge them to improve the quality of a film.

Basicaly what i want to do as i touched on above, is to capture video - mostly TV programmes recorded on Sky+. a PVR or old VCR tapes and turn them into DVDs to veiw on the TV. Would also want to edit to remove unwanted bits. Not really wanting to enhance the videos although this would be a bonus. I have a video capture device which uses composite video leads, just need some decent software to go with it.

Corel did indeed take over Ulead a while back so I would expect the Corel software to have some elements of the old video studio....
