Allotments 4 All

Hi Everyone,

Back from a prolonged computer crash, I'm so pleased to be back on my favourite site.  I was given a Glaskins Perpetual Rhubarb in a large pot back in the Spring, pending clearing a spot for it.  I have now planted it, with plenty of WRM, then read up that I should have waited till almost mid-Winter.  Does this matter?

Also is it called perpetual' because it produces for a long time, or just that the plant is long-lived?

It'll be fine. I'd rather plant it now myself, and give it plenty of time to settle in.

I agree with Robert!  I transplanted one a year ago around about now, but if I'd waited until to almost mid-winter there would have been snow on the ground!   

Not only that, but if you leave them till later, you may find they don't crop till late in the season.
