I cut my comfrey down for the third time this year today  :D which made me wonder, is there any recommendation about how many cuts or how late in the year it can be done?

Not that I've seen. I must have cut mine down at least 10 times this year and it's still going strong. I also poured some nearly neat Glyphosate on part of it and it hasn't even flinched. I don't think it's possible to harm it by cutting it, you'd need to go more for a full-on nuclear attack. Having said that the foliage will die down overnight when it gets frosty.

I dont know what you would do with comfrey tea this time of the year. In 6 weeks time what you going to pour it on ?
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

True, but mine's in a dustbin with a lid so will just keep it for next year.

No reason why you couldn't cut some and put it on the compost heap - very beneficial :D

I think I'd normally get three cuts but I've only managed one so far this year.  I guess that's a result of the dry season.  I'll probably cut again when it goes over at the end of the year.  I don't make tea, I just put it on the compost heap as an activator.
