I have a 3 year old crown that I planted this year. It has about 3 ferns growing on it.

Do I need to cut these down? or do I need to cover them up in the winter, as you can tell really new to this .

  Any help would be appreciated

  Thanks  x Chas

happy larry

Hi Charlie,i would leave it as it is(myself) then when it has died down of its own accord cover the ground area with a good wad of straw. This will (a) provide a bit of winter protection and (b)mark the area it is in and remind you not to tread in that area, thus preventing damaged growth for next year.hth Paul
