Is it too late to start peas off now? Are there any which are commonly available (ie - that they might have in my tiny local garden shop) that would work well?

I've just finished my sugar snap peas, which were lovely, and I'm dreading going back to frozen peas!

I have no idea but started some some of about a week ago. They have just started to emerge from the seed tray.

It's worth a try.

It`s getting a little bit late.  They will probably grow well enough, but the big problem will be mildew, so be prepared with your favourite specific.

you want variety that has earliest harvest time and pray a lot.

If they  do  not look like they will grow peas the shoots are very tasty.

So far so good a nice little row of little shoots.  Hope the deer do not take a shine to them.

Where does the mildew occur on late peas?   Soil very well drained so I am optimistic.  Still very dry here.
