John went with me to the lottie last week, we pulled a few beans, the first I had got as we planted late and a few other things and the last of the peas. The peas were finished so we pulled them all out..like you do

John went by himelf today to water, I asked him to pick a few beans for tea of the tall, growing ones with the red flowers, the runners, he was gone ages and when he came baqck he had all sorts of beans in the basket.

The red runners as I  had asked, a handful of Dragons tongue just started to flower last week, ditto to my Safari beans and ditto again to my Fortex and my Gina Romano.

I asked why he had picked other than he went for, then the truth came out. He pulled the beans he could see then pulled up all the plants and dumped them, So all my beans which are just coming into flower and a few that had produced one or two beans are now gone.

When I tried to find out why he said you picked peas the other day then pulled out the plants!!!!

So I am beanless now.. frothing at the mouth and trying to be non judgemental, can I scream here please

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG

I feel deflated.

We have a neighbor with a gardening business & OH used his strimmer at the lotty to strim the grass............. the fruit cage & the brassica cage. Oh dear.
I couldn't let him go on his own unless it was to dig.

Ahem. My wife had to look after the allotments to a large extent from last Autumn until earlier this year. Results

ALL raspberry canes cut down last Autumn, regardless of type so no Summer raspberries this year.
All garlic gloves split off, then carefully reassembled inot groups and planted in a hole. Instead of 130 or so separate garlic bulbs, we ended up with 12 groups of garlic bulblets.
Broad beans carefull planted in a zig zag row, with around 12 inches between plants. One whole bed taken up by 4 'rows' of beans
Wildflower area cut down and removed to compost heap for tidiness before seeds had dropped

MY OH hoed my nicely planted leeks; cos couch grass likes lines dunnit? He was banned from going on his own and only was allowed last week under strict instructions to ONLY GET COURGETTES...so he came home with courgettes and - yes - squashes that were still growing.

He just wants to weed and hoe everything in sight.

Good quote I heard a few days ago

" My wife is always telling me I don't listen..at least I think that's what she said"

One day before I left for work I put our dirty clothes in the linen basket ready for the washing machine.
When I returned home OH said ..."oh you are going to be so pleased with me because Ive done all the ironing"
It was sad telling him that he had ironed all the dirty clothes  ::) ;D ;D ;D

My allotment is mostly an OH free zone.  If I plant something he can be guaranteed to tread on it or dig it up.

When I was in hospital he went to pick me some crops, I was suffering vegetable withdrawl symptoms.  But he trod on so many other things.    He cannot standstill so seems to tread on the same place over and over again.  I have very narrow walkways between the plants and always walk along them but he manages to tread sideways and so squash the plants either side of the path.

OH limited to mowing the lawn  but even that is a problem since he leaves the last 4 inches everytime, and then another 4 inches and then another until there is a wide piece of long grass all round the lawn.

I bought and planted 5 gooseberries 2 years ago to train up as cordons to keep pests off the plot.Guess who pruned them all as you would bushes. Yes it was Tony. When he moans at the thorns sticking him when he picks them I just have to look at him and he knows.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"
