I couldn't get on, >:(  I had to go via my profile and through my most recent posts. >:(  Prior to this it has been going very slow to the point of sticking. >:(  Flipped round other boards in a flash so its not my end at fault. >:(

Thanks!

And why, often, when I post a pic by A4A method, does it say 'IE has problem - needs to close'?

It then closes A4A but, when you stagger back in, you find the photo has gone through!!

Hmmm, problems  :(

Has the speed improved at all? I've made a dew tweaks, which should improve things, please let me know if it has.

Cheers

Dan, when it's good it's very good but when it's bad it's horrid, this quiet Sunday morning it's like watching paint dry very sticky and slow. I use the Beeb site to check if it is my PC that is at fault, as it's probably the biggest busiest site in the UK and that is flying along as are others I tried this morning. :-\

PS Too many it's sorry.

Being on dial-up, I can't really comment. But not so many hitches at present.

Later - spoke too soon!

And this am, 3 min to get the site, 20 sec between pages, & after 2 min getting my 'label' message through, IE 'had a problem - had to close'!! But the message was through.

We too are on Narrowband and have had (hubris?) no problems with either connecting or speed of service for a while.

PS. Did I mention hubris? Just been timed out trying to get in . Ah well, just proves the ancient Greeks were right!

No change here I'm afraid, sticking like billio and very frustrating >:(

Sorry to say that I have the same problems as Roy has Dan. Very slow, very sticky. I'm on broadband but it is still extremely slow.  :( All other sites are AOK.

Life is like nectar sweet but sometimes sticky.

I've found it OK today.

Was acting up a little while back, computer crashed twice while I was taking a long time posting a reply. "disk needs checking for consistency" it said and error report to send to ms.

Is it my imagination or is this site working at normal speed? Of late I have often had to wait up to 40 seconds for a page to open. >:(

Just a thought (can be dangerous) I notice the adverts have gone on the headings and a note saying…”You are not authorized to view this page” could this have anything to do with speeding things up? :D

tim

Glad you've got it too, Roy - thoght I was being penalised!!

Are you finding the speed normal today so far Tim?

Admin aka Dan

The google ads have disappeared as they have suspended my account for missuse  ???

Interesting that you now find the site quicker - would not have thought google servers would have been slow !

While I hope the ads reappear (they pay for the site along with donations) we may have to look into a solution if they were indeed slowing everything down.

Keep me informed/

Dan

The site is certainly much better today Dan.  Did we misuse them ,only keep clicking to help financially.

Been running well tonight, but had one hiccup... a wait of 182 seconds (whatever that is) to open a page, hope we don't get too many of them and with no adverts, it's getting confusing now :o
