QuoteI sowed my brassicas in pots then picked out the seedlings and spaced them in a large seed tray.

You have gone the very opposite way from how I do it!

However, the seedlings are now very leggy and are between ½ to 1 inch tall.

I wouldn't consider that height as 'leggy'!

QuoteShould I push them down into the soil

No in my opinion you are more likely to do more damage doing this.

If it is possible add more compost to the tray this will have the same affect as pushing them down but with no damage!

Having said that I would prick them out again into pots!

Thanks for your helpful reply Tee Gee.

The reason I called them leggy is that the stems are very thin and tall.  I have done as you suggest though and added more compost.  I will be pricking them out into separate pots but not until they are the size of those in the link you kindly quoted.  There are only two leaves on mine and they are about half the size of cress leaves so very tiny.  Some have only just come out of their seed cases.  I probably should have left them in the original pot that I sowed them in until they got to a decent size.   ::)
