I've just bought some Leo dried peas. The ones Alys was using in THE edible Garden. I've got some batchelors marrowfats about to burst forth ;).

Granny what supermarket did you buy those from ? [Leo peas]

Duke :)
dont be fooled by the name I am a Lady!! :-*

Rosyred

I just brought dried peas by Batchelors to try. I'll put some to soak overnight now ready to plant tomorrow.

Do I have to watch them so they don't grow too big and only cut the top off??

goodlife

as long as there is leaf left below the cut they will re grow

I am using Dwarf grey for pea sprouts, with a purple flower of you let them grow on, they are recommended for shoots
When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

Duke, Asda have them in, and that is really weird as I saw the box on the shelf last week and the first thing I did was tell the wife that "thats the box of peas alys was growing" I nearly got away with putting them in the trolley too......
Ignore me I'm having a breakdown.

Crystalmoon

Hi Rosyred I am hoping to grow some pea shoots this year & have sown them straight into compost without soaking first. I was wondering if they will be ok as you mention soaking yours?

Rosyred

They will be fine Crystalmoon, i was giving them a head start but it could mean they go rotten as too wet so see what happens. Not holding too much hold on these batchlor peas I used as alot were in half.
