hi, i had butternut squash for tea last night and saved the seeds, can i plant these?

kazzab

PurpleHeather

Yes.

Don't worry about the negative F1 and hybrid responses.......I have been doing it for years.

Be patient though, they often take a while to germinate.

If you find that not all the fruit are the same, don't worry, save seed from the ones you like best.

Digeroo

A few years ago I had the best ever BNS from saved seeds.

kazzab

I haven't got any homegrown seed but I bought a squash the other day ,would this seed be any good ?
The bought in seed has failed to germinate this year and I thought I'd ask before I buy some more. :)

It should be OK but get them in now and if they have not shown signs of germinating in 10 days then buy some more seed or you will be a little late.
