Hiya, Nici, welcome to a4a  ;D
depends how bad it is, when we had it on our old plot, we used to pick 'em off and burn 'em  ;D

Hello NICI. Do you mean the disease big bud or just simply big buds as all of my currants have large buds on them at present which is how they should be I think.

If the buds are much bigger than others on the same plants, it may well be big bud. If there are only a few, pick them off and destroy them. If they're old plants which have been neglected, it may pay you in the long run to cut them down and let them regrow; old wood will produce very little, and all new should give you a bumper crop next year. Similarly, if they are covered with big bud, cut them right down and burn the branches. Make sure it really is big bud first!

HI
They look like the ones on my profile picture.
Theres not loads probably about 20 on each bush so will just pick them all off and burn them and for some of the branches that have loads on will remove branch altogether
Thanks so much for your responses so please to have found this website
hope you all enjoy the sunshine this weekend  :)

That looks like big bud, and 20 per plant is quite controllable.

Mortality

Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.
