I am growing those this year. Germination was an ok of 5/6.
Heres a picture of them so far (3 at the back and 2 infront, rest are peas & a single cabbage)



Only 5 plants atm, will probabily start some more off.
Seeds were a very dark reddish brown.
Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.

Red Epicure is the classic non-green broad bean (Unwins) but many including "Bowlands Beauty" (HSL) have both green and red beans in the same pod...

You can save them, but according to http://www.realseeds.co.uk/seedsavinginfo.html
'Broad beans will cross with other varieties that are growing nearby.   So if you want to keep your variety pure, you need to isolate them in some way.'

I'm growing Grano Violetta this year. Don't knw what they will be like but the violet coloured beans are stunning.
