I haven't heard about them before and just googled for info - they sounds amazing! And from somewhere I've always wanted to go!!

Anyway - this site says outdoors, I reckon if they grow in the himalayas they'll grow here?!

Sounds ideal for our climate. What that page says about using cukes in a stir fry is quite right. Give them just long enough to heat through.

I would love to try growing such unusual cucumbers.  :D
Thanks in advance............Jim

Baker Creek has these and Amishland did last year.. better prices from Baker Creek at least he did when  I slipped up and got mine from Amishland.Jere describes it as the historic cuke of Sikkim.Fat large fruit can weigh several pounds in size, ripe fruit is a unique rusty red colour, good eaten cooked or raw...then historical facts. prices for Jere's seeds  are for 25 -30 seeds whereas Amishland only had 5 in a pack.

I had mine from Baker Creek last year. Lovely cucumber to grow. I know I've added a couple of batches of saved seed to a couple of swaps and sent to a few people. There may be a few spares about.

I grew mine inside last year but I'd happily try it outside.

Emma, it is your generous sharing of your seeds that are allowing me to grow it this year. Thankyou and i will be following on the sharing hopefully later in the year.
Kind regards
