......... is there any point in the Council threatening us with a £1000 fine if we put out rubbish before collection day (Wednesday) then telling us to put it out on Tuesday night?

Ha Ha!! 2/10 for that one! We are told to put the wheelie bins on the street by 7 a.m. on collection day and leave them there till emptied. Occasionally 10 days later over the worst of the winter!

I've just emailed the council's refuse department -

Thank you for the leaflet explaining about
refuse collection (see attached)

The leaflet states that we can put our black
bags outside on Tuesday night after 6pm,
but also says that if we put them out before collection day
on Wednesday, we will be fined £1000.

Is this a new way of raising revenue?

I doubt if I will get a reply.  ::)

Or get your bins emptied. ;)

Oh I never thought of that. Mind you, they often miss them out anyway so nothing new there then!

Mortality

Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.
