Hi,

Just a quick one  ;D I haven't brought seeds on-line before and there is so many sites to choose from!! Any recommendations would be fab. I'm not after anything fancy in the veg department just some carrots cauli cucumber parsnip marrow and courgette seeds for now  ;D

Just sat doing my lottie plan for this year and thought i would have a look for some seeds while the kids are nice and quiet in bed. Don't think they would enjoy going to the garden center during half term  ::) But  have to get my fix somewhere  ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Lucy x

A vote here for Premier Seeds on ebay http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/Premier-Seeds-Direct__W0QQ_armrsZ1

Used them for a couple olf years, they do a good range, some oddball things and the postage is cheap (flatrate after the first item), plus you get plenty of seeds in a pack.... No fancy packaging but who needs it...

Got my spuds this year from Alan Roman and am impressed by what I got for the money.

Mortality

#10
I bought most of mine from

http://www.nickys-nursery.co.uk/garden-shop/seeds/

and a few from

http://www.mr-fothergills.co.uk/

But seeing as it was my first time buying seeds online too, I requested all possible seed catalogues :D
Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.

I too would recommend Alan Romans. especially as they post them to me in France  :)
Their seeds are pretty cheap, hard to beat on price but I find the quality is just as good as more expensive types. They sell good varieties of beans and peas, real bargains, I had some lovely Cobra beans from them last year.
They do have limited varieties but for standard stuff like carrots, beetroot, they are excellent.
Oh and try a yellow courgette they do called Parador, it was the only courgette to work for me last year and it gives small tasty fruit that doesn't get too big too quickly and never rots on the plant! Plus the colour is a bit of a novelty, I was the only one on the plot growing that type last year.
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

Thanks again for the links guys have saved them for future reference. I have ordered some F1 Taxi courgette seeds which are also yellow  ;D Some one on the next plot was growing them they looked great so i thought i would have a go this year trying to be better organised and use more of the plot.
As it happens last year i had two vacant beds and a area at the top that i had covered over until i got the rest of the plot up and running. Dug that over now and is warming up ready for the spuds trying 3 types this year  ;D
