What do you think caused this? It only happened to one and is it fit for the compost bin? ???
First Pic is Main Crop in cold dark shed


Second Pic is First Early in cold dark shed, is this normal or should it be in the light now? ???


Third Pic is Second Early in cold light porch, I assume this is normal? And get the rest in the light? ???

Later - looking at 'the book', it appears to  be 'dry rot' - unless it's 'slimey & putrid', when it's 'soft rot'.

Both encouraged by damage on lifting.

My guess, Tim is that this seed has either been in contact with something already contaminated or that there has been damage to the skin to allow bacteria in. Warm and dark would speed up this growth. Put is in a plastic bag and bin it.
My chitters are in cool and light conditions.

I sliced it in two and it was rotten and brown with a hole in the centre, the rest appear ok tho. :o 8)
