Sorry to wax political, but it's all connected with Farmers' Markets & growing in general?

WHY can't the layperson do something about it - other than buy British & encourage others? Looks as though it's a losing battle?

We have such high standards, it is a shame that not everyone can live up to them.

thats terrible.  Everything is so difficult.  You try and make an informed choice using the labling on a package and you still have these things to contend with  :-\ If in doubt buy from a local farm direct.

Many thanks for bringing this to our notice, Tim.  I just assumed (dangerous!) that organic was organic was organic so to speak.  I have heard of the "access to fresh air" but certainly didn't think that could be part of an organic process.  

Showing a British flag and labelling  organic smacks of trickery - or is it just gullibility on our part!

Indeed, Mia. No argument. Except that I feel that our standards are very reasonable. But allowing ill treated animals to be sold as 'happy organically reared British pigs' is just so sick-making. What a Government!

If folk saw the treatment, I doubt that they would have a clear conscience in buying Danish or Dutch? However cheap.
