I've read that these seeds can be sown in either spring or autumn.  If I sow them in spring will they flower this year or is it better to wait until autumn for stronger, better flowering plants next year?

Thanks in advance.

they grow uninvited in our front garden, Yes, they will flower this year, but, why not plant some in spring, and some more in the autumn? ;)
You couldn't make it up!

Hmmm, well I did think about that but I only have room for three plants.  Given what you say though, I'll see how the spring sowing plants fair and if need be sow again in autumn.  Thanks.  :)
