Allotments 4 All

I have just recieved 10 seeds through the post and am waiting for delivery of a windowsill heated propagator. Anyone had experiance of growing these? And are they really THAT hot?

I would recommend starting them early as they need a long season. I started mine in feb and got a few fruits, but they really needed longer to do well.

I agree with Sparkly, get them into the propagator ASAP. :) Mine were sown last month and have just been potted up into a three inch/9cm pot. 

This is my first attempt at growing Bhut's from seed, previously I've inherited young plants in the spring. I've had 100% germination thus far using a heated prop, which surprised me; I expected a few failures, hence my early sowing.  ::)

Agree there, very long growing season, we started in Feb, will start earlier this time, if we decide to grow next year.  But nicely hot when mature  :'( :'( :'( :'(

No, but the plants are still alive and I'm hoping to nurse them through the Winter...  :-\

mine was grown from seed this year. Hardly any fruit and they weren't hot when I tried a green one. Plant still healthy in the house, so finger's crossed for next year

Start early,i also try to keep the plants overwintered.

OH tidied out the greenhouse  ::) and the plants..
doubt they would have survived this really cold snap..  :-\

My Naga Morrich did much better than the Bhuts, just as hot. I'll keep trying though!

I got one pod this year, haven't tried it yet, just drying it for seeds.

They do need a lot of heat and sun, and a long growing season as mentioned above.
