I've done it again.

I bought a bottle reduced from £2.49 to .49p

Now I need to know what to do with it.

I hate oil dressings on salads so that is out of the question but I was thinking along the lines of making an almond oil pastry to make a frangipan type (like a bakewell tart) in with it.

Or maybe a sweet bread mix with dried fruit

Any one any ideas?

If you find no good use for cooking?! I use it with essential oils, its really good for skin and nails.  :)

mummybunny go to the almost top of the class with nearly 2 gold stars.

Just one snag the recipes are  either containing almonds or oil.  As we do when googling   NOTHING for almond oil as an ingredient

Where did you find such a good bargain? like Levi I use it for aromatherapy massage mixed with essential oils.

I also noticed in quite a few links that it stated Almond oil Can be used as a replacement for Olive Oil in cooking because of its similar properties, So maybe a search for recipies using olive oil might come up with something  ;D

32 of those recipes do contain almond oil you just need to refine the search.

Almond oil doesn't add a taste of almonds to a dish, it is most frequently used in salad dressings & desserts.

Hi Cherryblossom, sorry I can't help with where the oil came from, but welcome to A4A. Tis a great place with lovely people.  :)

 I would really look into the why's and where  fores before consuming any almond oil.
Better safe than sorry. I don't think it is as "edible" as say peanut oil or walnut oil,  That's my 2 cents worth, for what it's worth. :-(((( qahtan

almond oil is edible. There is a poison in almonds and peach kernals but it is destroyed in the manufacture of the oil. Perfectly safe to use as an alternative to olive oil for a lighter nuttier flavour.

Have a look at recipezaar.  I puy in almond oil in the search and then clicked on almond oil and sweet almond oil and came up with 79 recipes.

Thanks for all those tips I have now got an idea of what to go for.

Duke :- it was mixed in with dented tins and broken packets on a stand in Sainsburys, just the one bottle but we went to Cleveleys and B&M had loads of bigger bottles at 75p each.

Not into aroma therapy personally. But I love the smell of lavender in soap (probably getting old does it).
